Unsigned Jaeger displayed at CLA Show in 2008
This rifle appeared to be unsigned except for the barrel marks of TOAN over SCH
under a crown. If you recognize these marks please let me know so I can add the
information.
[Since this was first posted some folks have said it could be made in southern
Germany or Austria.]
This shade of blue-grey is very close to the small patches of charcoal bluing
seen on the underside of some 18th-century American longrifle barrels.
Notice that the screws in the guard, butt piece, side plate, and tang are all
aligned with the axis of the bore.
