Shenandoah Valley Longrifle
(ca 1800-1810 style)
Patchbox and carving similar to the work
of Frederick Sheets and Henry Harding. This rifle was built over an
extremely long period of time (nearly two decades) for a close friend
who provided the major components and an incredible amount of patience.
We used a Don Getz .54
caliber barrel, Jim Chambers late Ketland lock, and Wayne Dunlap red
maple blank.
The lock and barrel were browned. The frizzen spring was left blue.
